Colossians 1:27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.
We are living in extremely exciting times! In talking to friends, many have had dreams and visions of being on a roller coaster. This is an excellent description of what is ahead for the born again Christian. A roller coaster ride is a mixture of excitement and fear. This is an accurate portrayal of the life we are living. On one hand, it’s very exciting and yet, it can be quite scary at the same time. Not knowing what will happen next can be very frightening.
The first time we ride a new roller coaster, we have no idea how it will feel to fly around the bend at a high rate of speed or fall from a tremendously high point, straight down. Sometimes the ride takes you upside-down time and time again or around and through like a corkscrew. The ride can cause you to feel sick to your stomach while the excitement of it all is irresistible.
While on such a ride, sometimes we just hold on with all we have, assured that at some point it will all be over! We know the car will come to a stop and we can get out, plant our feet on solid ground, and return to normal.
On this roller coaster ride of life we have the assurance of our Hope of Glory! We don’t know how long the ride will last or how scary it will become. We have no idea of how fast we will go or how sharp the turns will be. Will we slowly climb higher and higher to the sky only to go into a total free fall? We do not know, but we do know one day the ride will end and that is our Hope of Glory!
Whether we die prior to the Rapture of the Church or are alive at that time, the Hope of Glory is ours! If you read the Prophesies and the Book of Revelation, you will learn that we, the Body of Christ, will one day reign with Christ on earth in the Kingdom Age. We win! The enemy will be cast down once and for all! Hallelujah!
Like the roller coaster ride, it will get fast and furious, exciting and scary, before it’s over. Jesus said in John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Hold on, my friends. We are in for an exciting and scary ride, but know that we also have the Hope of Glory! So, be of good cheer! Do not fear, the Lord your God is with you and will never leave you or forsake you!
All roller coaster rides have turns. God makes the turns in our lives. The greatest turn is soon to come!
God will……..turn the tide
On the ride! Doreen
