Our Reminder
April 14, 2024, 3:00 AM

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Jesus never wrote down a single word. He spoke His Teaching to the people and their lives were changed because of His Words. As we read the New Testament, we find many quotes of Jesus. Some are written by different people but are identical. Others are very similar but not exactly the same.

As we discussed yesterday, ALL Scripture is Inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. (2 Timothy 3:16) The Words we find in the Bible are what the Holy Spirit inspired that particular person to write. This is not true only of the New Testament but of the entirety of the Word of God.

All the Prophecies are Messages from the Holy Spirit to the Prophets. When written, the Holy Spirit reminded them of exactly what the Message was. And so it is with the New Testament. There is no way anyone could remember the entire Sermon on the Mount. And yet, Matthew recorded it all in His Gospel.

There were no recording devices in those days so how did Matthew remember all that? He didn’t remember it all. He was reminded of it by the Holy Spirit of God and He wrote it down for all the world to have for future generations.

Mark, Luke, and John walked with Jesus and heard every word He spoke but it would be impossible for them to remember everything He said and then later write it down. Jesus taught in Parables and many of them are included in the Canon of Scripture. Jesus spoke to thousands of people. He delivered them from demons and healed their bodies. The Words that relate to these Miracles were written down and the Words Jesus spoke at these times were brought to the remembrance of the writer by the Holy Spirit.

This is why we can remember the Words we receive from the Lord. When we have a God-given dream or vision, we remember every Word spoken to us. The Holy Spirit reminds us of these Words. He is our Teacher, Counselor, Helper, Guide, and Corrector. He is also our Reminder. When a Scripture comes into your mind at a certain time, that is the Holy Spirit reminding you of it. He causes us to remember what we need exactly when we need it. He is an on-time God, yes He is! What an awesome God we serve! Hallelujah!

God can……..….turn the tide...........in this world!
