Persecuted But Approved

Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

The Message given by Peter to the people on the Day of Pentecost was all about Jesus. This should always be the case. The Holy Spirit knows who is in the audience and what they need to hear and in every case, they need to hear about Jesus and His Finished Work on the Cross.

The Jewish people rejected Christ because He was born a peasant. They were expecting the Messiah to be a King but He came as a mere man born with nothing. Therefore, He did not receive the approval of the people.

Although Jesus was not approved by men, He was approved by God. He was sent by God. He WAS God! To this day, people still do not believe in Jesus. He still does not have the approval of men but nevertheless, He sits at the Right Hand Throne of the Father and He makes intercession for them.

It is God’s Will that everyone come to repentance and be saved by Grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Those who have been Called to Preach and Teach lost souls about Jesus will not gain the approval of men either. Like Jesus, we are shunned and cast off but, like Jesus, we have the approval of God!

The Word of God says we are joint heirs with Jesus. and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (Romans 8:17) As joint heirs with Jesus, we can expect to be treated as He was treated. He was shunned by the masses and we will be as well. He was persecuted by the hierarchy of the religious crowd, and we will be too.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said: Blessed are those who are persecuted for Righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so they persecuted the Prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:10-12)

Therefore, if we are not being persecuted, mocked, laughed at, and shunned, we are not displaying Jesus as we should. If the world does not know you are a Christian, pray about how God wants to display His Son through you. We are not the Light, but we are to reflect the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ everywhere we go. For this, we will be persecuted and for that persecution, we are to rejoice, for great is our reward in Heaven! Hallelujah!

Faith in Jesus will……….turn the tide……….in this world.
