Pleasing To God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Everything we read in the Word of God actually happened. The Bible is a History Book that has been totally inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. That means that while it may not be a complete compilation of everything that happened, it does contain that which the Holy Spirit of God deems necessary to build the faith of the reader and draw them closer to God, their Creator, and His Son, Jesus Christ, their Redeemer.

We read in 2 Timothy the actual purpose of the Word of God. All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16) This Scripture is extremely clear and direct as to the purpose for God’s Word. There is no denying what it says. Unfortunately, few people use the Word of God for its intended purpose: Instructions for life.

We have millions of books to read and documentaries to watch but if we cannot apply the principles to our lives they are nothing more than information and/or entertainment. God’s Word is to be used to change the way we think and live our lives on a daily basis. That is its purpose.

Our study of the Book of Acts is teaching us how to respond to government officials as well as religious leaders. This is a spiritual battle. If we are being led by the Holy Spirit and our focus and intention is squarely placed on building the Kingdom of God, then we are operating in Righteousness and the Holy Spirit will stand with us against all adverse factions.

On the other hand, if we are really intending to build a personal empire by using the Name of Jesus and the Gospel of Christ, the Holy Spirit will lift His Hand of Provision and Protection off us and let the world have its way.

God knows the intention of our hearts. No matter what we say, He knows the truth. O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your Hand upon me. Such knowledge is to wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it. (Psalms 139:1-6)

There is an old saying: You can fool some of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time. Allow me to add this, You cannot fool God anytime. He knows you better than you know yourself. He will allow you to go on trying to fool Him, but you will not succeed. Therefore, the best thing to do is read His Word, pray, listen to the Voice of God, and follow His Instructions. Then you will live a life pleasing to God and that’s all He asks of us.

Give God a chance. He will……….turn the tide……..in your life.

I surrender all,         Doreen
