Preach The True Gospel

2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus who we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!

For the past several days we have been digging deep into Peter’s inaugural Message he preached on the Day of Pentecost. This Message is God’s Pattern for Sermons to this day. The crux of the Message proves that Jesus is the Son of God; the Messiah. If this fact is not proven to the people listening, nothing of God will be achieved.

Peter was speaking to thousands of unbelieving Jews that day. Many of them were members of the Sanhedrin and Pharisees. Those men were steeped in religion and the Law. They had achieved great power, position, and prestige. To believe in Jesus as the Messiah and give their hearts to Him they would have to renounce their religious standing, humble themselves and repent.

Nothing has changed in the world today. People work hard and strive to gain power, position, and prestige in this world. To believe and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, they must lay down their life and take up the Cross of Christ. Some do this, but most will not because they have not really heard the True Gospel of Christ.

The Apostle Paul was a Pharisee. He had great zeal and did whatever it took in the name of religion. No one at the time could equal him when it came to zeal for the Law. BUT, when he heard the TRUE GOSPEL, he laid it all down at the Foot of the Cross, repented, and turned from his wicked ways. He was still a man with great zeal but now that zeal was redirected in the total opposite direction. He now served and worked to build the true Kingdom of God instead of the Jewish Law.

God is still able to totally change people but they must hear the TRUE GOSPEL OF CHIRST, not a watered-down version filled with half-truths. This is what Paul referred to as a different gospel about another Jesus.

When the Truth is preached, people get saved. Their lives are completely changed. They are no longer that same person. They think differently, talk differently, and act differently because they believe differently.

I know that many of you reading this are Preachers and Teachers of the Gospel. Actually, we are all Teachers of the Gospel even if our students consist of our own family, classmates, workmates, and friends. So, please don’t water down the Gospel of Christ to fit someone’s lifestyle or sin patterns. Tell it like it is. Give them the Truth of the Gospel of Christ. The Holy Spirit will take it from there. Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

The true Gospel will……….turn the tide
