Prosperity Gospel

2 Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

Jesus’ letter to the church in Laodicea was a strict rebuke and an offer of Redemption through Repentance. The people there were preaching and teaching what we know today as a prosperity gospel. This teaching is prevalent today as we live in these Last Days. The focus is on money and material goods and the people equate all this with Blessings from God. It’s evident by Jesus’ letter to them that they were wrong and anyone who believes this today is wrong as well.

While it is true God does want us to prosper and have our needs met, we are by no means to worship money and/or material goods. The Apostle Paul warned young Timothy about this. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the Faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart because the Lord has spoken directly to me about it. The Church is not to be a place of business where things are bought and sold. This is SO prevalent today as there are thousands of churches that are nothing more than a personal empire built for someone. I do not believe God is happy with this at all.

We are not Saved and Called into Ministry to build a personal empire for ourselves or anyone else. God Calls us into Ministry and gives to us Spiritual Gifts so we can build the Kingdom of God. All personal empires are the kingdom of Satan and those who operate in this prosperity gospel are in fact, working for Satan.

The Devil is very tricky and he disguises himself as an angel of light. For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14) Do not be fooled by this. Keep your eyes and ears open and seek the Truth of God’s Word. Any preacher or ministry that sells gifts or blessings is a false teacher and should be immediately rebuked and disregarded. Those who encourage people to give a certain amount of money to receive a title, gifting, or healing are artists.

Greed is a demonic spirit that quickly infiltrates the hearts of people. Everyone wants to increase their net worth and there is nothing wrong with working hard and getting ahead in life. However, when money becomes everything, faith in Christ has become nothing.

There is always a bit of Truth in every false teaching and it is with these bits of Truth the enemy sucks people in. It is true that God does Bless us and abundantly so! He absolutely loves a cheerful giver and the Word does say that to him who gives, more will be given. It also says that we will reap what we sow. These are the Scriptures the prosperity gospel is based on and they are true, but when the Truth of the Word of God is manipulated to bring prosperity only to the leaders of the ministry, they are indeed false apostles preaching a false doctrine.

The Apostle Paul said it like this: But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:12-15)

Seek the Wisdom of God. Use your Gift of Discernment. If you are attending and/or supporting a ministry that is a place of business or a place of employment, RUN! Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

Jesus is coming back to …..…….turn the tide
