Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
Give, and it will be given to you. When we give with the right motive, God will give back to us more than we had before. Out of obedience, Abraham was willing to offer his son, Isaac, to God. Abraham didn’t take Isaac to the mountain because he was afraid of what God might do if he didn’t. Nor did he take him because he wanted something in return from God. Abraham took Isaac because God told him to.
God wants us to understand that everything we have belongs to Him. We own nothing. We are nothing. Without Jesus, we are just another person out in the world fighting to survive. God has so much more for us if we will just be obedient to His Voice.
God is constantly asking us to give more to Him and His Kingdom. When we do this with a pure motive, He will give us back so much more. As we said yesterday, the more you give, the more you will have to give.
God does not force us to do anything. He wants us to willingly choose to give all we have to Him. I’m not speaking only of money and material goods. This includes anything and anyone you may be holding on to. Whatever we are trying to do, God can do it better. Whatever we are trying to protect, God can protect it better. Whatever we are working for, God can make it happen easier.
He is God! He can do anything! He wants to do things for us but He is waiting for us to give up and stop trying to do everything on our own. Jesus said, I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
God deserves the Glory for everything we accomplish. We are worthy of no accolades. The world sees what we do. God knows why we do it. He is concerned about our motive. It doesn’t matter how big or how small it is. What matters is why we do it.
When we love God with all our heart, mind, body, and soul, we will put God and His Kingdom first and do things to build His Kingdom. Why? Because we love Him and He is worthy of it all. God knows our hearts. He already knows why we are doing things. Search your heart today and if you find any self-serving motives, repent and ask God to forgive you. He will. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10) Let this be your prayer and mean it with all your heart.
Then God will……….turn the tide……..in your life.
