Psalm 51:2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Every human being is created by God and for His Purpose. We are all unique in every way. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a person exactly like you. We are each one of a kind. This is the awesome Work of the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and earth.

Although we are created in God’s Image we are not perfect as He is. Because of the fall of the first man (Adam) and because we are all born of the seed of man, we are all born with the sin nature. This nature draws us away from God, our Creator, and into Satan’s world of evil and wrongdoing. Unfortunately, this is where the majority of people spend their entire lives.

But this is not God’s Plan for us! He wants us to turn from the evil world and follow Him. He wants to save us from our sins and He made a Way for every single person on earth to be saved. God caused His Word to take on flesh and walk this earth as a man. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) God refers to this Man as His Son because He was not born of human seed, but of the Seed of the Holy Spirit of God. We know this Man as Jesus Christ who was sent by God to be the Savior of mankind. The problem was (and is) sin. Jesus, the Son of God, was (and is) the answer or remedy.

In the heart of every man is the desire to be right with God. We are all created with this in our spirit. Also He has put eternity in their hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11) This is why we feel guilt and shame when we do something wrong. In our heart (spirit) we know we have sinned and we feel bad about it because we know we have failed God.

All sin is against God. Although we hurt other people through our sins it is the understanding that we have failed God that causes guilt and pain inside our hearts. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight. (Psalms 51:3-4)

When we come to this place we stand at the door of Repentance. We know we are a sinner. We also know we have failed God and we will be held accountable for our sins. This knowing is in the heart of every human being. When we hear the Gospel of Christ and understand that God wants us to be Saved from our sins and that He wants to forgive us, we lay our sins at the Feet of Jesus Who died on the Cross to pay our sin debt. This is the first act of Repentance but it is not the only requirement.

As we discussed yesterday, Repentance is like receiving a new pair of shoes to walk out the rest of our lives. When we admit that we are a sinner and ask God to forgive us, He grants Forgiveness and He places before us a new pair of shoes to wear. These are the shoes of Repentance. It is our choice to wear the shoes or continue to walk in our old shoes and continue in our old sinful ways. This, my friends, is not true Repentance and it does not result in a true, born-again Salvation experience.

We must choose to put on our new shoes of Repentance and walk daily in them. Yes, at times we will still sin, but our heart is now for God and our overall direction in life is totally changed. In that instant, we are born again and we will seek God in every aspect of our lives. We will WANT to please God in everything we say and do and we will WANT to live the life He created us to live. Anything short of this is not Salvation.

The enemy would have people believe that it doesn’t matter what they do, but that is a lie straight from Hell because one cannot be born again and continue to live as the old man saturated in sin. True Repentance and Salvation will result in a total change of heart. When we are truly born again, we are no longer the same person.

Don’t let the enemy lie to you. Read the Word of God for yourself. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. As Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

Seeking God with all your heart will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Born again, there’s really been a change in me!         Doreen
