Reasonable Service

Mark 8:34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His Disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Living a Christian lifestyle is a daily commitment. Jesus told His Disciples this. Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23) To follow Christ means exactly that! It means to never lose sight of Jesus and to seek after Him in a greater way every day. There is always more to learn and know about Him and He wants us to seek more of Him. That’s why our faith is tested by God.

Every problem we encounter is an opportunity to learn a lesson and see God work a Miracle. If we never had a problem we would never see God Work in our lives. Look back over your life and consider all the messes God got you out of. How many times should you have been hurt or even killed but God intervened? God has rescued all of us at times in our lives and most of the time, we don’t even realize it.

To REALLY serve God is to lay your own life down and totally surrender yourself to Jesus. This is not an easy task but little by little it can be done. The more of ourselves we give up, the more of Jesus we can take up. It’s a matter of seeking after Him above all else in our lives.

Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) This has become my life Scripture. It is Jesus’ Command for us to put Him and the His Kingdom, first in our lives.

We have talked a lot on this platform about priorities because God has set in place a specific order for everything and in ALL things, He wants to be first. He deserves to be first! He created you. He placed in you all your Gifts, talents, and abilities. He sent His Only Son to die on a cruel Cross to pay the price for your sins! He did this so you don’t have to live a miserable, defeated life here on earth and all of eternity in the burning pit of Hell where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

When we think about all that Jesus did for us, how can we not give our lives over to Him and His Kingdom? As Paul said, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

All God is asking of you is to be reasonable. Given what He has done for you, what is your response?

Put God first and He will……….turn the tide……...in your life.

Given over to Him,         Doreen
