John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
Jesus Christ is the ONLY source of true freedom. If we look at countries around the world today, we find those whose people are predominately free and those where the people live in tyranny. Communism is tyranny. Anarchy is tyranny. Any sort of dictatorship is tyranny. The lack of freedom is tyranny.
In a nutshell, the following is our American Heritage and the basis for it: America was founded on freedom based upon our Founding Fathers' understanding of Freedom in Christ and the Cross of Calvary.
Jesus commissioned His people saying, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.(Matthew 28:19-20)
Christians have responded to this commission and sent missionaries and evangelists around the world preaching the Gospel of Christ. Millions upon millions of people have given their hearts to the Lord and found the personal freedom Jesus died for them to have.
As Christianity grows in a country, freedom grows too. Where Christianity is the prevailing faith, freedom prevails among the people. This has been true in hundreds of countries around the world. It is impossible to separate Christianity and freedom.
Likewise, where other religions rule nations, we find nothing but tyranny and slavery. Today we see reports of people being enslaved, tortured, and murdered in countries where the Gospel of Christ is not known and/or rejected. The only exception to this is the tiny nation of Israel; the land of God's people.
The following are words written by our second President, John Adams, who made this clear, "Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God ... What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be."
The goal of our Founding Fathers was to create a land where the people lived in freedom. John Adams described such a place as an Eutopia and Paradise. To this end, our forefathers were devoted and risked their lives. They sought the Bible as their guide for the laws of our land. They used the Bible as the textbook for their schools. The Congress believed so strongly in the importance of the Bible, they had them printed so every home in America could have a copy to live by. They viewed the Bible as "the handbook for living."
Let us pray that we may once again see the Word of God in this way. Let the Church be awakened to the Truth of the Gospel of Christ and the Freedom that accompanies it. Let the preachers across our great land be bold to speak the Word of God to their congregations.
Without Christ, there is no freedom. We must reclaim America for Christ. It begins with each one of us. One person at a time willing to take a stand. Then two; four; then eight. Then a whole community; a city; a county; a state; a country; once again filled with the Spirit of God; led by the Spirit of God because of the Cross of Christ. When the Body of Christ stands together, we can reclaim America for Christ.
God is calling His people into obedience. Only He can….....…turn the tide
Free indeed and standing! Doreen
