Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
The boldness of the Holy Spirit was upon Peter and John as they stood before the highest court of the land, the Sanhedrin. These men could have them put to death at any moment, but they did not waver in their faith or their speech. They spoke the Truth about Jesus, the Power of God that is in Him and His Name, and the fact that it was this Power that healed the crippled man at the Gate of the Temple.
Peter went on to tell them that Jesus is the cornerstone of the Church. Although the Jewish people rejected Him does not change anything at all. He is still Who God the Father says He is and He remains the same to this day. The rejecting of man does not change who Jesus is.
The religious ones crucified the Man, Christ Jesus, but He still lives on. They rejected Him, but thousands accepted Him and He still lives on. This is exactly what is happening today. Much of the “Church” denies and rejects the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross, but that does not negate what He accomplished there on Crucifixion Day. Nothing any man can do will ever change that!
All the other religions of the world are cults and lead to death. Only faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross leads to Salvation and Peter told the Sanhedrin this in his next statement when he said: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
Peter gave it to them straight that day knowing they could put him to death at any moment. John stood by his side in total support and agreement. They KNEW what they were saying was true and they wanted the members of the Sanhedrin to know it as well.
Never think that just because someone is rejecting what you are telling them about Jesus negates its truth or destroys the Kingdom of God. It does not! However, rejecting Christ will destroy those who do the rejecting. Just as their rejection of Christ destroyed the whole nation of Israel, it will destroy individuals and entire nations today.
Think about how far down America has come in the past sixty years when our government made the decision to remove Jesus from our schools and public places. The Mercy of God endures forever and He will welcome America back into the fold when she turns back to Him. If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
This is God’s Promise to each of us as individuals, our families, communities, and entire nations. God stands ready to welcome us home at any time. As individuals, we must take on the Holy Boldness that Peter and John had that day and speak the Truth to the leaders of this nation. We are up against a powerful, evil bunch of Satan worshipers but they are not greater than the Name of Jesus or the Power of the Holy Spirit of God. Let us lift up the Name of Jesus all across this nation!
Then we will watch God……….turn the tide
