Repent And Give It To God

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

When Peter concluded his message to the thousands gathered in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost, He called them to repentance. He said, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)

They had no idea what Peter was talking about when he said, you shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus went to the Cross the Holy Spirit visited believers and was WITH them on occasion but after Jesus paid the ultimate price for sin on the Cross of Calvary, the Holy Spirit is IN believers. There is a huge difference between Him being WITH us and IN us.

All true born-again believers have the Holy Spirit dwelling INSIDE them. He is there to bring the Power of God into every aspect of our lives. Whatever we need, He can fulfill it. If we need comfort, He is the Comforter. If we need healing, He is the Healer. If we need an answer in a situation, He has that answer. It doesn’t matter what the issue or situation is, the Holy Spirit, Who lives IN us can resolve it and bring Peace to the situation.

With the world situation as it is today, many Christians are not at Peace. Fear and worry have set in and taken over their lives. Financial needs are great and the inflation rate keeps getting worse and worse. The answer is not in any man, government, war, or political process.

Our answer to all this is to place our faith in what Christ accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. Because of His Sacrifice, the Holy Spirit is with us to Help us when we CALL ON HIM. He will never club us over the head and insist we do anything. He will, however, lead us in the right direction and show us the way to proceed. He will teach us the Ways of Jesus Who was and is, the Prince of Peace.

Without Jesus, there is no Peace. Without Jesus, there is nothing but turmoil, fear, and worry. However, on the flip side of this, the Holy Spirit is the Power of God to do absolutely ANYTHING! Nothing is beyond His ability. It doesn’t matter how horrible the situation is, the Holy Spirit has the answer and it will ALWAYS result in Peace. The Peace that is beyond our understanding. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

I feel like many of you reading this are anxious and fearful. Take heart, my friend. Repent of any part you may have in the situation and then, give it to God. He can do what you cannot do.

Repent and God will……….turn the tide
