Repentance With Faith

Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. This statement made by the Apostle Paul is the essence of being a Christian. This is what Paul preached and taught everywhere he went. He spoke the same Message to everyone. That is, the Message of the Cross.

Because we are all born in sin, we are all lost until we are born again. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3) Everyone is a sinner. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Likewise, all sin is against God. Although our sin will hurt other people, ultimately, all sin is against God. Therefore, repentance is necessary for one to be born again and receive Salvation.

When the true Gospel of Christ is preached, the Holy Spirit works in the hearts of people and they will come under conviction. They will understand that they are a sinner and without a Savior (Jesus Christ), they will live a tormented life here on earth and they will also spend all of eternity in Hell. This conviction leads people to repentance.

The Gospel is the only true Message of Hope for people. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die on the Cross to pay our sin debt. It is our belief in Who Jesus is and What He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary that leads us to Salvation.

God loves all people and it is His Will that every person on earth be Saved and born again. The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

There is no Salvation without Repentance and there is no Repentance without faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. The two go together and no man can separate them. Jesus declared Himself to be the only Way to God the Father. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me. (John 14:6)

This is why the Apostle Paul described his ministry with these words: Testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)

Repentance and Faith will……..….turn the tide………...in your life.
