Revival Or Riot

Romans 8:31 If God is for us, who can be against us?

Everywhere the Gospel of Christ is taught, preached, and proclaimed there is a reaction from the people who hear. They either receive the Message or they reject it. To receive the Message of the Gospel of Christ is to be Saved, born again and Promised Everlasting Life in Heaven. To reject it is to be spiritually lost, miserable, and destined to spend eternity in Hell. There is no middle ground. He who believes in the Son has Everlasting Life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the Wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

As we study the Ministry of the Apostle Paul, we find that as he preached the Message of the Cross of Christ, he had results. Again, there were two: Revival or riot. This is what we are experiencing in America today.

The Church was virtually silent after WWII. Christians became comfortable sitting in the pews of their churches and didn’t cause waves in the streets. They were good and upstanding citizens who minded their own business and led their own lives which were for the most part Righteous.

However, while Christians were staying to themselves behind the closed doors of the churches across this country, the world was ramping up for what was meant to be a take-over of American culture. To do this, the Church had to be silenced in public. So, in 1963 they passed a law that prohibited prayer and the Bible in public schools.

Unfortunately, in response to this, the Church remained silent and fifty years later, we are reaping the repercussions of their apathy. We have sat back and watched Christianity become weaker as the evil ways of this world have prevailed.

Now, when the Gospel of Christ is preached, more people reject it than receive it because they have been taught to reject it. Schools, colleges, and universities all teach against the Bible and Christianity. The students are forbidden to express their faith in Christ. If they do, they will fail the class. The Bible will not be found in a public school library. Many professors are not even American let alone Christians. Most are from the Middle East and are Muslims, Hindus, or Buddhists.

However, finally, the Church is beginning to wake up to what is happening and they are taking a stand! Hallelujah! Because of this, we are seeing exactly what Paul experienced. There are still only two responses to the Gospel: Reception or rejection. Likewise, we see only two reactions: Revival or riot.

This is where we’re at today. Which side are you on? The Word of God says He who believes in the Son has Everlasting Life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the Wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

Everyone must choose a side. For those who choose Christ, we know that God is with us. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) We also know that greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4) I encourage you to choose Christ. Be on the winning side. Read the end of The Bible. In the end, we win. Hallelujah!

Choose Christ! He will……..….turn the tide……….in your life!

Thank you, thank you, Jesus!         Doreen
