Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spoke these Words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the Word.
By the direction of the Holy Spirit, Peter was in the home of Cornelius who was a Gentile. Peter shared the Gospel of Christ with all those who were present that day which, according to the Scripture, was quite a number. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. (Acts 10:24)
There was something very special about what Peter spoke to them that day. While we may not notice it by reading the English translation, when we look at the original language (Greek) we find a word that is worthy of discussion.
The Scripture reads: While Peter yet spoke these Words... In Greek, Words is translated from the Greek word RHEMA which is quite different from just ordinary words spoken. A RHEMA WORD is a statement spoken by the Holy Spirit directed to a specific person or situation.
The Spirit of God knows exactly what a person needs at any given time and a RHEMA WORD will address that need. If you have ever been reading the Bible and come across a Passage of Scripture that you have read many times before, but this time, it means something completely different to you. It absolutely meets your need at that time. This time it is exactly what you need to know to bring Peace or clarity to something you are dealing with. This is a RHEMA WORD designed by the Holy Spirit of God especially for you at that moment in time!
A RHEMA WORD can also be spoken by another person or even sung in a song. The Holy Spirit has inspired all Scripture and at times, He literally puts words in the mouth of others just for you! The moment you hear the Words or read them, your problem is solved and your need has been met. All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We serve an absolutely amazing God who loves us so much! He wants us to be at Peace in every area of our life. Whatever you may be dealing with at this time, trust that the Holy Spirit is at work on your behalf. Read the Word of God. Listen to good Christian music. Listen to Sermons by truly Called Preachers and Teachers. God has a RHEMA WORD for you that will meet your need, answer your question, and bring Peace to the situation. Only God can speak a RHEMA WORD. He is so amazing!
