Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born. Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Genesis 21:5) His wife, Sarah, was 91 years old when she gave birth to Isaac. They had waited their entire lives for a child and finally, God Blessed them with a son. Then, as we discussed yesterday, God tested Abraham’s faith by commanding him to offer up Isaac as a burnt offering.

In faith, Abraham took Isaac to the mountain as the Lord commanded him. He built an Altar and prepared the fire to offer his son as a burnt offering. Why? Because God commanded him to do so. He was already well over 100 years old. The chances of him having another child were slim to none but Abraham never forgot the Word of the Lord to him. As for Me, behold, My Covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. (Genesis 17:4-5)

If he offered his son as a burnt offering, how could he go on to be a father of many nations? For him to be a father of many nations he would have to have descendants. To have descendants, he would have to have children. Isaac was that son. What was he to do?

Abraham did not question God. He acted in faith and obeyed God. Abraham passed the test of faith God had placed in front of him and God provided another sacrifice. Abraham was willing to offer up his son but he didn’t have to. God saw the faith in Abraham and Blessed him and as we all know, Abraham did go on to be a father of many nations!

God does not lie. He keeps His Promises; all of them. God does not tempt us but He does test our faith every day. Today, you will be faced with a test of your faith. What will that test be? We don’t know how God will test us but test us He will. Will you pass the test or will you give in to the ways of the evil world?

When we remain Kingdom minded and keep our focus on Christ and Him Crucified, we will pass the test of faith that God puts in front of us. Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33) This is the key to passing the test of faith today and every day.

Set your eyes on the Kingdom of God and use every minute of every day to put His Kingdom first. Seek to be Righteous in the Eyes of God. Walk with the Spirit of God and let Him lead your every step. Constantly be aware of your spiritual surroundings and speak and act accordingly. The great Apostle Paul said it like this: For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-8)

To be Kingdom minded will……….turn the tide
