Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any nation.
Righteousness. The definition is That which is right in the eyes of God. Our source for determining what is right and wrong is found in the Word of God therefore making it the standard for Righteousness. There is a faction in America claiming that America is not, nor ever has been, a nation based on Biblical principles. This is absolutely ludicrous!
Standing 81 feet tall in a residential neighborhood of Plymouth, Massachusetts, is the largest solid granite monument in the United States; the National Monument to our Forefathers. This monument took some sixty years to build and was dedicated in 1889. It is named the National Monument to our Forefathers because it depicts the beliefs which our forefathers used to form the United States of America.
Kirk Cameron produced a documentary on this Monument called “Monumental” can be purchased on line and in my opinion should be shown to every child in America as a part of their American History studies.
On the Monument, we find a central figure who is a woman named, FAITH. She stands with one foot resting on a replica of Plymouth Rock. In her left hand she holds the Open Bible and with her right hand she points to the heavens. The symbolism in this central figure of the Monument is to trust in God and His unfailing Words written down for us in the Holy Bible.
Seated at the feet of Faithfour smaller figures representing the Christian values and principles our Forefathers lived out and proudly made known publicly. With Faith in God at the center, these four Biblical principles are the foundation upon which our country was founded and upon which our Founding Documents were written. They are Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty.
Morality holds the Ten Commandments in her left hand and the scroll of the Book of Revelation in her right. On either side of her, we find an Old Testament Prophet and Evangelists.
Law holds Justice in one hand and Mercy in the other.
Education is represented with Wisdom of Maturity on one side and Youth and experience on the other.
Liberty is accompanied by Peace and the Overthrow of Tyranny.
The dedication statement on the Monument is as follows: “National Monument to the Forefathers. Erected by a grateful people in remembrance of their labors, sacrifices, and sufferings for the cause of civil and religious liberty.”
If you ever have the opportunity to visit this Monument, please do so. It is open to the public and will bring revelation in regard to what our Forefathers believed and how they lived. It is impossible for one to visit or study this Monument and come away denying that our Forefathers had faith in God and trust in the Holy Bible.
There are people who will deny this fact, but this single Monument will prove otherwise very quickly. Let us strive to educate ourselves and teach our children of our true American History and in doing so America will return to the Faith of our Forefathers and the Principles set forth in the Holy Word of God.
Righteousness: That which is right in the eyes of God. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any nation.
Only God can……..turn the tide
Praying for Righteousness in America, Doreen
