Rise With Christ

Romans 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Another word for awaken is resurrection which is defined in the Webster Dictionary as: To raise up from the dead; to restore to life or use.

When we think of resurrection, the first thing that comes to mind is the Resurrection of Christ after Crucifixion, but the entire Word of God contains story after story of resurrection. As people became alive through faith and obedience, they were resurrected from a state of death or sleep, restored to life, and put to good use.

A great example would be the story of Jonah who refused to obey the Word of the Lord and ended up in the belly of a huge fish for three days. When he finally gave in, he was resurrected to life and God used him in a magnificent way.

Life without Christ is a state of spiritual death because at that point we are dead indeed to sin. However, at the moment of Salvation, through belief and faith in Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross for us, we are resurrected into new life and are alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Body of Christ is asleep and has been for a long time. Much of the Church today is spiritually dead and needs to be resurrected; awakened.

In many of the Bible stories and accounts, things had to get really bad before the resurrection occurred. I don’t know how much worse it can get in America before the Church wakes up and is resurrected to life in Christ. Of course, the Rapture of the Church is also Resurrection so perhaps that’s what will happen next. Until then, we must continue to sound the alarm for the Church to awaken and be resurrected to life in Christ.

At some point, God will……turn the tide

Until then,      Doreen
