Satan Is Disarmed

Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Sin has always been the problem for mankind. Everyone is born with the sin nature which makes us prone to sin even when we want to do what is right in the eyes of God. God wants everyone to be Redeemed of their sin so He sent His Son to die on the Cross as the Final Blood Sacrifice. He did this once and for all! Every sin, past, present, and future has been Atoned for by the shed Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

Every born-again Christian believes Christ died on the Cross and because He did, they will not have to spend eternity in Hell. He paid the price so we don’t have to pay the penalty for our sins. However, few understand that His Sacrifice on the Cross also gives us Power over sin now while we are alive on this earth. That is the Good News for today; now, while we are still alive!

Paul wrote to the Colossian believers And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

Verse 15 has to do with our subject today. Satan has no hold on us! Jesus disarmed him and all his minions (demons and fallen angels). He nailed them all to the Cross and made a public spectacle of them! The only power they have over us is what we give them. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:15)

Paul also wrote to the Romans and said For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under Grace. (Romans 6:14) As believers in Christ, we do still have a sin nature but we are not controlled by sin if we understand and BELIEVE that Christ disarmed Satan on the Cross. That means he is powerless against the Holy Spirit of God that dwells in us.

John wrote Greater is He Who is in me than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4) Do you believe that? If so, then you have the faith to walk in Victory over sin. Will Satan still tempt you? Yes, but you don’t have to succumb to his temptation because you KNOW that he has no power over you. His place is under your feet like a little bug! And the God of Peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:20)

Faith in Christ Crucified will…..…….turn the tide...……..in your life.
