Satan Is Tricky

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Satan is cunning. This means he is crafty, tricky, sly, and scheming. He is not only a liar but the father of lies. Satan speaks no truth at all. Everything he says is a lie.

In the 3rd Chapter of Genesis, we read that he came to Eve in the form of a serpent. The Bible tells us the serpent was the most cunning of all the animals. He spoke to Eve and questioned her about what the Lord had told her and Adam. “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)

To this question, Eve answered We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, “You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.” (Genesis 3:2-3)

The serpent’s response to Eve was his way of tricking her into falling into sin. Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4)

Eve believed the serpent over what the Lord had spoken and she and Adam ate of the forbidden fruit. At that moment, they fell into sin and everything changed for the worse. Satan has not changed. He still operates in the exact same manner today. The Word of God says one thing and Satan convinces us that God doesn’t really mean what He says.

God DOES mean what He says. His Word is Truth. When the Word of God says that people who are engaging in sin shall not inherit the Kingdom of God, He means exactly that! Do not be deceived by Satan like Adam and Eve were. Read the Word of God and live your life accordingly.

Jesus paid the price for your soul with His Life’s Blood. He defeated all power of the enemy in our lives. We don’t have to sin. For sin shall not have dominion over you. (Romans 6:14) Obedience to the Word of God is key to being a Christian. Jesus said, If you love me, keep My Commandments. (John 14:15)

Jesus went to the Cross to…...….turn the tide……..in your life.
