John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the Truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

 

For the past few days, we have been discussing the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Some refer to this as the Infilling of the Holy Spirit or being Filled with the Holy Spirit. All three are the same thing. They all refer to this subsequent Work of Grace in those who are saved and born again.

 

Philip took the Gospel to Samaria and the people received it and were saved. Even Simon, the sorcerer, turned from his life of witchcraft when he heard the Truth preached, and was saved. THEN, Peter and John went to Samaria and laid hands on them and they received the second Work of Grace, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Now when the Apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:14-17)

 

Satan hates this because the Holy Spirit is the Power Source of God to perform great and mighty Miracles. He doesn’t want us to do great things for the Kingdom of God so he tells us that it is all a lie. Many Christians do not believe in this Second Work of Grace, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because they have been lied to their entire lives.

 

Consequently, there is little to no Power of God in operation in the Church today. We have been studying the Book of Acts which is God’s Pattern for His Church. It’s all about supernatural Miracles, Signs, and Wonders and it all comes about by and through the Power of the Holy Spirit of God. The Ministry of the Church today should be exactly the same as the Ministry of Jesus and the Church of the First Century.

 

The Word of God NEVER says that His Miracles, Signs, and Wonders will cease. This belief is the lie of Satan perpetrated upon man. I challenge you today to read the Word of God for yourself. Read the Book of Acts and then compare it to what is happening at the church you attend.

 

I will go out on a limb here and say that in 99% of the cases, Church today looks NOTHING like the Church we find in the Book of Acts. Why not? Because Satan has infiltrated the minds of the people and convinced them that the Power and Ministry of the Holy Spirit of God no longer exist.

 

Again, I challenge you to read the Book of Acts for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to impart the Truth to you. He is your Teacher. Listen to The Teacher and learn the Truth.
