Seek Him

Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me diligently will find Me.

In our study of the Book of Acts, we have come to the 13th Chapter. Here we find that the Holy Spirit had moved the headquarters of the Church from Jerusalem to Antioch where He had placed certain Prophets and Teachers there to help spread the Gospel of Christ throughout the Roman Empire.

In the 2nd Verse of the 13th Chapter, we read what these men did. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. The word “ministered” in this Passage is often misunderstood because its meaning is somewhat different than what we understand in modern-day English. The Greek word is leitourgeo and it means to help others and to worship through prayer and praise.

These men spent much time worshiping the Lord and seeking Him in regard to His Plan for their ministry. This is God’s Pattern for the building of His Kingdom. We are to seek His Plan and then act accordingly in obedience. Too often people today draw up their own plans and then ask God to Bless them rather than seek God for His Plan.

If we truly want God to Bless our ministry, we must spend much time in prayer diligently seeking His Plan. He never formed a building committee or had a fundraiser for anything. God’s Plans are already set in place. All we have to do is be open to His Plans believing that they will be far, far better than anything we could ever dream up.

When we truly love the Lord we will seek Him in all aspects of our lives because we know and believe that He wants the best for us. It is human nature to seek after what you want and believe it will benefit you. Most people seek after money, material assets, fame, position, and notoriety. None of these things can begin to compare to the things available to us in the Kingdom of God. This is why Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

There is that word again! Seek! It means to search after with all your heart like you would search for a hidden treasure because that’s exactly what it is! Continually seek after the Kingdom of God because it’s a never-ending fountain of Goodness, Righteousness, Provision, Protection, Knowledge, Wisdom, and much, much more. What more could we ask for?

Put aside the desires of this world and seek after God and His Kingdom. Give God an opportunity to show you what He can do. I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed.

He will……….turn the tide………..in your world.

He did it for me. He will do it for you!         Doreen
