Yesterday the Holy Spirit led us to a little word that has tremendous meaning and significance in our Christian lives. The word is “seek.” We find this little word repeated over and over again throughout the Bible because it is the verb the Holy Spirit used to describe how we are to live our lives on a daily basis.
The definition of seek is to diligently search or long for something that is usually important and/or valuable. As to seek after a hidden treasure. To seek after wisdom and knowledge. Below are several examples of the word seek found in the Word of God.
Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from now you shall seek the Lord your God, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
1 Chronicles 16:10-11 Glory in His Holy Name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His Face evermore!
1 Chronicles 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 12:14 And he did evil, because he did not prepare his heart to seek the Lord.
Psalms 34:10 But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
Psalms 34:14 Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalms 53:2 God looks down from Heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
Psalms 63:1 O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
Psalms 119:45 And I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your Precepts.
Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the Right Hand of God.
What are you seeking? What do you want more than anything else?
Seek the Lord with all your heart. Only He can……….turn the tide
