Ephesians 6:16 But above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Satan’s demons and evil spirits are a well organized army and Satan himself is the highest ranking spirit. Under him are his demonic spirit generals, if you will. Satan has many demon generals, but the greatest of these generals is the spirit of antichrist. All his demons have legions of spirits serving under their command like any military force.
The spirits down in the rank and file are the ones who are not often recognized as too threatening, but indeed they are. In any battle, the bullet from the gun of a foot soldier can be just as deadly as one fired by a five-star general. Any bullet can kill and so it is with the fiery darts of the enemy.
As we fight to defeat the spirit of antichrist we must also learn to recognize the foot soldier spirits who fire darts at us on a continual basis. The battle we face every day is ongoing and the enemy never ceases to attack us.
Three of the most dreadful foot soldiers in Satan’s army are fear, doubt and unbelief. They serve under the mighty general we have been discussing for the past couple of days: The spirit of antichrist. When attacked by fear, doubt or unbelief, our faith in Christ begins to weaken. We know the Bible tells us, God did not give us the spirit of fear, so why are we afraid?
When we were first saved and born again, nothing or no one could convince us we were not saved by the Power of Jesus Christ and His Blood shed on the Cross, so why do we lay in bed at night and doubt if we are “really saved?”
We claim God is able to do all things, so why do we not always believe, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us?
We know the Bible says that God hears and answers our prayers, so why do we doubt He is really there listening or if we are good enough for Him to hear us?
We quote the Words of Jesus when He said you will do even greater things than these, but when we pray for a miracle, we don’t really believe God will grant it.
These are just a few examples of how Satan commands his demons to attack us. His mightiest of generals, the spirit of antichrist, gives orders to the spirits of fear, doubt and unbelief to fire their poison darts at us. If we are not on guard against it, we will be hit and wounded.
The name of the spirit reflects the poison in their dart. The spirit of fear hits us and we become afraid of all sorts of things. When hit by the spirit of doubt we begin to doubt our faith, salvation and the deity of Jesus. The poison in the dart fired by the spirit of unbelief seeks to destroy your faith completely and is deadly.
Every one of Satan’s demonic warriors serve under his spirit general, the spirit of antichrist. Their goal is to hit us with so many fiery darts we will finally succumb to them and fall from faith completely. He comes only to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10)
No one can stand against an enemy they don’t recognize. Satan is real. His demons are real. His attack is real. If you don’t believe this, you have been hit by a dart. Read the Word of God. He would not give us the Armor of God and the Sword of the Spirit if we had nothing to fight.
The spiritual battle is raging. Put on the Full Armor of God and take up the Sword of the Spirit. No demon of Hell can stand against the Name of Jesus. Raise your Shield of Faith, take up the Sword of the Spirit and speak His Name in all confidence! There is Victory in Jesus and the Victory is yours and mine!
His Name will……..turn the tide
Victory! Doreen
