Mark 1:1 The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Yesterday and the day before, we discussed the two Names/Titles of Jesus, SON OF DAVID and SON OF MAN. Today we will see that Jesus is also Named SON OF GOD. Yes, Jesus is the SON OF DAVID, the SON OF MAN, and the SON OF GOD. Jesus can be given all three Names because He was 100% man and 100% God at the same time; fully human while being fully Deity simultaneously.

Jesus is the SON OF GOD. He is God’s Only Begotten Son. For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Everlasting Life. (John 3:16) In this Passage of Scripture, Jesus declares Himself to be the SON OF GOD.

Although Jesus walked this earth as a human being (SON OF MAN) He was not conceived in the normal fashion. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit of God and this is why He is known as the SON OF GOD. God, the Holy Spirit, is His Father. An Angel of the Lord visited Mary and told her what would happen. And the Angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

And so it happened, exactly as the Angel said. And Jesus was born in the normal fashion but He was by no means an ordinary child. After all, He was the SON OF GOD! He was perfect in every way and He never sinned. Because He did not have an earthly father, He was not born with the sin nature. Therefore, in His thirty-three years of life on this earth, He never committed a sin.

Jesus was sent by His Father for a specific Purpose. That Purpose was to die on the Cross as the final Sacrifice for the sins of mankind. God loves His Creation so much, He doesn’t want anyone to die and spend eternity in Hell. The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to Repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

Due to the fall of Adam, we are all born with the sin nature. This seed of sin is passed down to every human being on earth and because of it, every one of us is on our way to Hell if we don’t accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. (Romans 3:23) The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

But God sent the Remedy for sin! He sent the only One Who could pay the price for our sins. He sent His Son, the SON OF GOD, who is God’s Gift to anyone and everyone who will receive His Gift and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. He suffered and died a horrible death on the Cross of Calvary so we can be saved from sin. He did this for you and for me! But the Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

But God demonstrates His own Love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been Justified by His Blood, we shall be Saved from wrath through Him. (Romans 5:8-9)

God made a Way for everyone to be Saved. Jesus is that Way. He is the ONLY Way to the Father in Heaven. (John 14:6) Today is the day of Salvation. Admit that you are a sinner. You cannot save yourself. You don’t have to try to save yourself. That Work has already been done. The SON OF GOD did it for you 2,000 years ago. All you have to do is believe it and confess Him openly. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

The SON OF GOD was sent to……….turn the tide……….this world!
