Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the Blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The ability to overcome Satan is only by the Blood of the Lamb, (Jesus and His shed Blood on the Cross) and our personal testimony of the greatness of God in our lives.
Jesus died so believers could be overcomers. The Apostle Paul wrote, sin shall not have dominion over you. We all sin every day but sin does not control our lives. The true believer understands that they are a sinner and they will sin. However, they hate the sin in their life and pray to be delivered from that sin. This Deliverance comes by way of the Power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us due to our faith in Jesus’ Sacrifice on the Cross. And they overcame him (Satan) by the Blood of the Lamb.
When Jesus gave up His Spirit on the Cross and overcame death through His Resurrection, Satan lost all his power! However, he never stops tempting us to sin. Believers succumb to temptation because they do not know the Power that is within them.
After Jesus was baptized, the Spirit came upon Him. Then the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness where He fasted for forty days. Then, in a weakened state, the enemy tempted Him. Satan will always kick us when we are down.
Each time Jesus was tempted, He responded by quoting the Scriptures and we are to follow His example. For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, (Hebrews 4:12)
To overcome the enemy’s attack, we must know the Word of God and we must understand that we have been given the Authority and Power to speak it, rebuking Satan and his demons. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
My friends, every believer has the Power to overcome the enemy. The Holy Spirit of God put it in writing for us to read, believe, and act upon. The Bible is a written contract between God and His people. It’s all down in writing and sealed by the Blood of Jesus.
When two parties enter into a contractual agreement, they put it in writing, sign the document, and have it notarized by a person authorized to do so. The Word of God is a Covenant agreement between us and God. The Holy Spirit inspired it and saw to it that it was written down for future generations to read. The seal is the Blood of the Lamb of God and it is all done by the Authority of Almighty God!
When we sign on as believers we have access to all the Power of God, but few believers ever walk in that Power. Many do not even know what is available to them because they have not read and understood the Contract!
If you profess to be a Christian, your Contract with God has been Signed, Sealed and Delivered! Read it! Understand it! Walk in it! Live and operate in it! SPEAK IT! ! ! Therein lies the Power of God for you to be an overcomer!
What an awesome God we serve! He can……..turn the tide
