Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound?
There is a false teaching in the Church today that says it’s okay to sin because Jesus went to the Cross for all sin. This is beyond just false teaching. It is outright heresy! Jesus went to the Cross to defeat the power of Satan in our lives so we WON’T sin! His Sacrifice on the Cross gives us Power over the enemy to live Righteous lives. This is the Grace of God provided to us by the shed Blood of Christ on the Cross.
The Grace of God is NOT a license to sin. It is the Power of God to have Victory over sin. This was the Message of the Apostle Paul in the New Testament. He wrote about this in his letters to the various Churches and an in-depth study of the Book of Romans will prove this.
The Grace of God is His Free Gift to humanity. We receive this Gift of Grace through our faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary. There is no other way to receive the Gift of Grace. Jesus went to the Cross so we can have everything that is included in the Gift of Grace.
We are all born sinners and therefore, we are all deserving of death. For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) That’s WHY God sent Jesus to die on the Cross! He died so we can live a Victorious life here on Earth and spend all of eternity in Heaven with Him! But the Gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Jesus was not murdered. He was not killed. He WILLINGLY went to the Cross so we can receive the Gift of Grace from our Heavenly Father. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) If you believe in Christ, you are a friend of God. Jesus is your friend; your best friend. He laid down His Life for you. He did this so you can have Victory over sin now and forever more.
All Christians believe that Jesus died on the Cross so they can spend eternity in Heaven. That’s true and that’s wonderful but that’s not all of it! Jesus died on the Cross so you can walk in Victory NOW, in this life; while you are alive on this earth!
God cares about you and your life NOW! He does not want you to be plagued by sin. He does not want you to live a life of sin as you await eternity in Heaven. That just doesn’t make any sense! Faith in Christ Crucified does not result in the Grace of God to live in sin and be forgiven. It is the Grace of God (Power of God) over sin. It is the Grace of God to CHOOSE Righteousness and walk in Victory OVER sin.
Paul asked the Romans What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound? He then immediately answered his own question. Certainly not! The King James Version reads God forbid! Jesus did not suffer and die a horrible death on the Cross so we can live in sin. On the contrary, He went to the Cross so we can live in Victory over sin.
Faith in His Finished Work on the Cross results in Salvation at which time the Holy Spirit moves into the person and dwells there. He gives us the Power to live Righteous lives IF we CHOOSE to listen to His Voice and obey Him.
God made the Way for all of us to be Saved and live Victorious lives here on Earth. Jesus is that Way. (John 14:6) We have free will to choose. We can believe in Him or we can reject Him. If you believe in Him then you have the Power within you to walk in obedience to the Word of God. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the Law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-8)
Faith in Christ Crucified will…..…….turn the tide………..in your life.
