Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
When I began the ministry here in Caney, OK the Lord spoke this Word to me. I want you to create an atmosphere where My Holy Spirit can work in the lives of those who come. These Words set the tone for everything that was to come. The question was, How do I create such an atmosphere?
As I prayed and sought God for the answer to this question, He began to answer through His Word and other people. I diligently sought the Lord about this because I truly desired to do what the Lord wanted. During prayer and study, the answer began to come. He continually took me to Matthew 6:33. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
It quickly became obvious to me that it was possible to create such an atmosphere or God would not have told me to do so. Also, I learned that all Work of God is done by His Holy Spirit through our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary. A proper atmosphere had to be spiritually clean in every possible way. It was the atmosphere that Jesus brought with Him everywhere He went.
One of the first things I learned was about fully consecrating everything to Him. There could not be anything in the house that brought glory to the world. Everything was to bring glory to God and lift up the Name of Jesus. I had to take a firm stand on this as people wanted to donate things that did not meet God’s standards. The following Passage of Scripture kept coming up everywhere I went. Come out from among them and be ye separate, says the Lord. Touch not the unclean things and I will receive you. (1 Corinthians 6:17) This led me to the understanding that “things” can indeed be unclean and God did not want anything unclean in His Retreat House.
Although people would come and go, no one was to permanently live in the retreat house. We know that all people are sinners and carry unclean spirits that contaminate the atmosphere. Therefore, the house must be properly cleaned and prayed over after every group.
Another very important aspect of creating such an atmosphere was unity. God’s Church is not denominated. There is one Body of Christ (His Church) and all true believers are a part of it. Therefore, all believers would be welcome here and even come together as one. In the 17th Chapter of John, we find a beautiful prayer made by Jesus. He prayed for His Disciples and then He prayed for all believers. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. (John 17:20-21)
The Lord had begun to instruct me about how to create an atmosphere where His Holy Spirit could work in the lives of those who came here. There is much more and we will continue tomorrow. As I look back on it now I can see how the Hand of God led me to the understanding of how to create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit can work in the lives of those who come. It’s amazing and the Holy Spirit has done many Miraculous things here over the past 15 years.
The proper atmosphere will…..…….turn the tide……..in the Body of Christ.
It’s all about the atmosphere, Doreen
