1 John 4:4 Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

In the 14th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we find Paul and Barnabas in Iconium. They had been kicked out of Antioch in Pisidia by the women of the synagogue and the city officials so they traveled to Iconium where they continued to preach the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.

As they did in Antioch, Paul and Barnabas began in the synagogue where many Jews and Gentiles gathered. The people were open to hearing about Jesus and many gladly accepted the Message and believed. And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. (Acts 14:1)

However, just as it was in Antioch, the Jewish leadership rose up against them. As the Holy Spirit drew people to the Message of the Cross, Satan reared his ugly head against it. The Jewish leaders lied to the Gentiles in an attempt to get them to not believe in Christ. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil, affected against the brethren. (Acts 14:2)

Whenever the Truth is being preached, Satan will always come against it because he hates God and the Gospel. It amounts to a spiritual battle over the souls of people. The Holy Spirit draws people to Christ and Satan fills their minds with lies as he tries to tear them away.

This has been going on for almost 2,000 years. Little has changed. Where the true Gospel of Christ is preached, people believe and are Saved and Satan still uses religious leaders to deter what the Holy Spirit wants to do.

Just as it was in the days of the early Church, religion is the most powerful enemy of Christianity. In those days, it was the religious Jews that came against the Message. Today, it is denomination leadership as well as people who are controlled by the demonic spirits of pride, greed, and false doctrine. This is all the work of the enemy who comes only to kill, steal and destroy.

But, when we stay focused on the Word of God and seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness in our lives, we will come to the understanding that the Power of the Holy Spirit of God is far, far greater than anything Satan can attack us with. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

The Holy Spirit is the Power to…..…….turn the tide……….in the hearts and lives of people.

Hallelujah!         Doreen
