Stay The Course

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the Grace of God.

Paul knew he would come under attack in Jerusalem but he placed his ministry above his well-being. This is something few believers would do today. His objective in life was to finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the Gospel of the Grace of God.

When Paul was saved on the Road to Damasus, his life was changed forever. However, he was not given his ministry assignment at that time. Paul went to Arabia and spent two to three years seeking direction from the Holy Spirit. It was during this time that he received his Calling and Ministry instructions.

Paul was born with everything he needed for his Purpose in life, but he had been using it for all the wrong reasons. He was created to see people Saved and born again but prior to his own Salvation, he was actually killing Christians. He was born with great zeal and boldness but until he was Saved and understood his real Purpose in life, he was extremely detrimental to the Kingdom of God because he was working for the enemy.

Paul’s face-to-face meeting with Jesus and the two to three years he spent in Arabia, transformed his mind. From then on, he was on an entirely different course in the opposite direction. This is a picture of true Salvation.

When one is truly Saved and born again, they will completely change because God will put them on a different course. They still have all the talents, abilities, and gifts they were born with but now they will use them to build the Kingdom of God rather than the kingdom of darkness.

Paul’s goal was to finish his course with joy and no matter what happened to him, he kept his eyes on the Prize and never faltered in his faith. Paul is a great example for all of us. His life leads us to some pretty important questions. What am I doing with what God has given me? Where am I going? What is my Diving Assignment in life?

If you don’t know the answers to these questions, I suggest you spend some time with the Lord in prayer and seek His Divine Assignment for your life. Paul spent two to three years seeking the Lord for his assignment. How much time are you willing to spend? You are not just another person alive at this time on Earth. You have been created for a specific Purpose that will enhance and build the Kingdom of God. This is your Divine Assignment and only you can do it.

We cannot stay the course if we don’t know what the course is. Earnestly seek God’s Direction and Purpose for your life. He will show it to you and when He does……….stay the course.

Only God can………..turn the tide……….in your life.

Staying the course,         Doreen
