Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
The “rock” spoken of here by Jesus, is that of Himself. He is the Solid Rock upon which our faith and hope is built. With proper maintenance, any house built on a solid foundation will stand strong in the midst of the severest of storms.
America’s Founding Fathers understood this concept and believed it with all their hearts. They knew if they built their individual lives, families, colonies and eventually this nation, on the Firm Foundation of Jesus Christ, nothing could shake it and destroy it.
These were men of God, many of whom were pastors. It was men of God who built this country. They stood behind the pulpits and preached the Truth of the Gospel of Christ. However, unlike most of the pastors standing behind pulpits today, these men were willing to risk their lives for liberty in America.
The study of this is amazing and will bolster the faith of any American willing to take the time to learn exactly how these men conducted their lives. They were men of great courage who led the men of their congregation into battle for the freedom and liberty we have enjoyed all these many years.
These men did everything they could to ensure the stability of the foundation for America. They would not back down to anyone or anything. Their love of freedom and liberty was of utmost importance and came first. They were willing to fight to protect it for their families and future generations. We are those future generations! They did this for US!
Life in America has always been based on having the courage to stand strong to ensure freedom and liberty for future generations. That’s what America has always stood for, but what do we stand for now? Are we willing to take a stand? Do we care that future generations in America will know freedom and liberty?
If the answer to these questions is “yes” then we have to change our ways. We must stop thinking about ourselves. We must work to shore up our foundation which is horribly cracked. It’s time to stop being selfish and begin to be selfless because it’s really not about us.
It’s time to rise to the occasion my friends. I know we don’t all agree on everything but we must agree that America is a Christian nation; founded on Judeo-Christian Principles and that freedom and liberty in our country is worthy of our deepest convictions and steadfast resolve.
If every born-again Christian American would take a stand for Christ and the Word of God, the face of this nation would look entirely different. We are in desperate need of foundation repair. All foundation repair requires people who are willing to roll up their sleeves, get down in the trenches, and work.
Christ instructed us to build our house on the firm foundation of the Solid Rock. Our forefathers did that. Our generation has not done the maintenance. Now, we MUST do the much needed repair.
Please God……..turn the tide
