2 Corinthians 11:14 For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

 

The members of the church in Laodicea thought they were Christians but that Judgment will be made by the Lord. They believed the lie the enemy had planted in their minds and they mistook money and material goods for spiritual Blessings from God.

 

While this may be the scheme of the Devil, God’s people are given the Gift of Discernment whereby we can identify the enemy when he is in our midst. Satan always looks good but he is always evil. There is no good in him.

 

Jesus clearly shared this when He described the works of Satan. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (John 10:10) Oftentimes Old English is difficult to understand because the words seem to be backward and not in order. If we were to rewrite this statement in modern English we would say “The thief only comes to steal, kill and destroy.” The keyword here is only. This means that EVERYTHING Satan does and/or sends his evil spirits and demons to do, is evil and his desire is to steal, kill and destroy. His targets are all believers in Christ because he hates God and all of God’s people.

 

This is exactly what happened to the members of the church in Laodicea. They were saved, born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ but Satan reared his ugly head and spoke evil thoughts into their minds. He convinced them that the love of money was a good thing and that material goods were all spiritual Blessings from God no matter how they came to receive them.

 

You see, Satan is a liar. Every word he speaks is a lie. He is not capable of speaking the truth and as Jesus said, his only motive is to steal, kill and destroy the Kingdom of God and all the people in it. This is why it is imperative that we read and study the Word of God which is the Truth. When we know the Truth, we will quickly recognize the lies of the devil. This is of the utmost importance in the life of every believer.

 

Read the Word of God for yourself. Study it and seek greater understanding. This is something the Holy Spirit will ALWAYS grant us. When we ask for understanding of God’s Word, He will give it to us because it is His Will that we all come to the Knowledge of the Truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)

 

To gain Knowledge of the Truth we must study the Truth which is the Word of God. Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly diving the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

 

When we know the Truth we will not be sucked into the falsehoods of the enemy. When we know the Truth we will be set free from the lies of the enemy. Remember these words of Jesus: If you continue in My Word, then you are my disciples indeed; and you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)

 

 

The Truth of the Word of God will….…….turn the tide………..in your life.
