Study The Word Of God

1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

The spirit of Jezebel was ministering to some of the people in the church in Thyatira. Others stood their ground and did not succumb to the influence of this demonic spirit. Jesus brought this to the attention of the Pastor of that church in His letter to them. (Revelation 2:18-29)

Some have found it hard to believe that truly, born-again Christians could fall into such darkness but it happens all the time and is in fact happening today. The Word of God warns us about false teachers, false prophets, and false apostles who preach and teach a false gospel.

Many times today, these people come into the Church under the guise of higher education. They have attended thousands of hours of higher learning and have earned many degrees but they know nothing of the Truth of the Word of God. The Apostle Paul is believed to be the most educated person on earth at that time and yet he knew nothing about the Gospel of Christ. He did much harm to the Church prior to his conversion on the Road to Damascus.

Later in his letter to the Corinthians he wrote, Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. (1 Corinthians 3:18) What the world sees as knowledge and wisdom can be extremely detrimental to believers because their knowledge contains nothing of the Word of God which is the single most important information on the face of the earth.

Paul also wrote to Timothy and Titus warning them of the same thing. O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge. (1 Timothy 6:20) In Paul’s second letter to Timothy we find this: But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. (2 Timothy 2:23)

To Titus, Paul wrote: But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. (Titus 3:9)

Paul knew all about education and he also knew that the Word of God was far superior to anything taught by man. He told Timothy to study the Word of God. Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:25)

Allow me to suggest you do the same. While education can be good, knowing the Word of God will serve you greater. When we know the Truth of the Word of God we will immediately recognize false teaching when we hear it and we will not get sucked into demonic, ungodly doctrines and practices.

Let this be a word of warning to you in these Last Days. Study the Bible. It will serve you well.

The Word of God will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Thank you Lord for Your Word,         Doreen
