James 3:1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
Who among us is a teacher? Better yet, who among us is NOT a teacher? We are all teachers. The Lord places people in our path and we are to teach them the Truth. This does not only include those gifted or called to teach, for we are all teachers of others.
What are we to teach? Who are we to teach? Where are we to teach? When are we to teach? The answers to these questions are found in the Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
Ephesians 6:4 Parents, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;
1 Peter 3:1 But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Romans 10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
The Scriptures are filled with the answers to the questions posed above. We are all teachers and will receive a stricter judgment. Our identity is in Christ. We are to be like Him; Christ-like. He was called “Teacher.” If we are like Him; Christ-like, we too will be teachers.
Only the Teacher can……..turn the tide
