Acts 2:22 You men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man approved of God among you by Miracles and Wonders and Signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know.
As Peter began the inaugural Message of the Church, the first thing he did was to remind them that it’s all about Jesus of Nazareth and all that God did through Him. There was a huge crowd of people there that day and Peter began by reminding them that many of them had actually witnessed Jesus perform Miracles, Signs, and Wonders. They had seen things with their own eyes! They heard Jesus speak and watched Him Heal the sick and cast out demons from people.
What have you seen God do in your life? What have you heard the Holy Spirit speak to you? How many times have you been saved from tragedy or sure death? How many times has the Lord Healed you from sickness and disease? How many times has the Lord forgiven you? The answer to all these questions is countless. The fact is, you don’t even know all that the Lord has done for you.
The Bible contains many accounts of Miracles performed by Jesus but all these are a mere drop in the bucket. John said, And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen. (John 21:25)
It’s obvious by the first words spoken by Peter that the First Church was all about Jesus Christ, His Life, Works, Ministry, Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension. These people saw all this with their own eyes and they talked about it. All this was the subject of the Messages of the early Church. Should it not be the same today?
Who Jesus is and what Jesus did should still be spoken of today by Christians. We are Christians because we believe in Who Jesus is and what Jesus did. Therefore, we should talk about it. He is worthy of our praise and our conversation.
As we seek God’s Plan and Pattern for His Church, this must be at the top of the list. It’s all about Jesus. Without Him there is no Church. Without Him we have nothing. Without Him we are lost, dying, and headed for Hell. Without Him we would be dead a long time ago. He has done so much for us. Let’s talk about it! Tell of the Wonders He has performed in your life. This is your testimony and it will lead others to believe in Him and THAT is the purpose of the Church: Leading others to Christ.
Your testimony can…...….turn the tide…...in someone’s life.
Hallelujah! Doreen
