The Benefit Of Peace
November 8, 2021, 3:00 AM

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

For some time now we have been discussing the Benefits of being a born again believer in the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. The Psalmist reminds us to forget not all His Benefits: (Psalms 103:2) This is a subject we could discuss every day for the rest of our lives and never exhaust the list. The Benefits of God and His Blessings for us are so vast that we don’t have the capacity in our minds to list them all.

Upon Salvation, the Holy Spirit of God brings into our lives a host of Benefits that will completely change us if we receive them and allow Him to work His Miracles within us. Some of these Benefits are listed in Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit is, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

The single thing all people seek is peace. We hear it said, “All I want is a little peace and quiet.” To be at total peace is the ultimate Benefit for the born again believer and we can have this through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He came and went to the Cross so we can live in peace. He said this! These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace.

Peace is the absence of turmoil and stress. On the world stage, peace is the absence of war. Jesus called this tribulation and He told us that, In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

The Great Prophet Isaiah told of the coming Messiah. For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulders. And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) Right here in this single Verse of Scripture we see the Trinity (the Three Persons of the Godhead) revealed in the Names of the Messiah. God the Father is Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Holy Spirit is Counselor, and Jesus, the Son is Prince of Peace.

It is important to note that out of all the Names the Holy Spirit could have inspired Isaiah to give Jesus, he called Him the Prince of Peace. He came to bring Peace in the midst of turmoil, war and stress. His Mission has not changed to this day. When we accept Him into our heart, He brings that perfect Peace with Him. It cannot be obtained elsewhere. No psychologist, psychiatrist, human counselor, teacher, preacher or pastor can bring this Peace to you. Alcohol, drugs (legal and illegal) sex, gambling or any other activity on this earth can bring peace. All these things only mask the pain for a while. Then, it comes right back. Only through faith in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, will you ever find true Peace.

Faith in Jesus will……….turn the tide……….in your life and usher in true Peace.

Thank you Jesus for bringing Peace to my heart.         Doreen
