The Joy Of The Lord
March 10, 2022, 3:00 AM

Romans 14:17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of Righteousness and Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit.

The 120 believers present on the Day of Pentecost were all filled with the Holy Spirit. We know they all spoke in other tongues and apparently, they all appeared to be drunk. Peter had heard the mockers and settled the matter with his first words when he said, For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. (Acts 2:15) This would indicate that it was 9:00 in the morning when this took place.

They were in fact not drunk, they were filled with the Joy of the Lord which caused them to act out in happiness. What this looked like we are not positive, but most of us have been around people who are drunk so we have somewhat of an idea.

People use food, drink alcohol, and partake of mind-altering substances (legal or illegal) to escape the circumstances of this world and their problems. Anything that alters one’s mind can give the person a false sense of joy because their worries are temporarily alleviated. However, once the substance wears off, all the worries come flooding back and in most cases, things are worse than before. These people usually suffer from depression and hopelessness which results in migraine headaches, high blood pressure, and other physical ailments.

God does not want His children burdened down with problems and worries. He wants us to be free and filled with His Holy Spirit! He wants us to have such Peace and Joy in our lives that we appear drunk. Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary so we can be filled with the Holy Spirit Who brings with Him the Fruit of the Spirit which is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)

If you use excessive amounts of food, alcohol, or drugs of any type (pharmaceutical or illegal) to escape your current situation, allow me to suggest you give the Holy Spirit a chance to bring Joy, Peace, and Hope into your life.

Please understand that you cannot change what you are worried about. You are not able to resolve that issue on your own BUT God can resolve it and He wants to do it for you. The only way He can change it is if you willingly give it to Him. You must surrender it into His capable Hands and accept the Infilling of the Holy Spirit into your life. Then and only then, will you know the Love, Joy, Peace, and Hope that Jesus suffered and died on the Cross for you to have.

I say to you, Be filled with the Holy Spirit! Right now, wherever you are reading this Morning Message, allow the Holy Spirit to permeate your entire being. If you feel strange words or sounds deep down in your belly, yield to them and speak them out. This is the Holy Spirit giving you the utterance. (Acts 2:4)

The words you speak are a real language known somewhere in the world but unknown to you. This is your “prayer language” with which you can communicate with the Holy Spirit of God directly. It is a personal Gift for you. Accept it and use it every day. It will bring you the Joy, Peace and Hope you have searched for all this time. Hallelujah!

Today is your day to know the Joy of the Lord. It will……….turn the tide……….In your life.

The Joy of the Lord is my strength!           Doreen
