James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
After Peter and John were released from prison, they returned to be with the other followers of Christ. Joined together in one accord, they prayed for boldness to speak the Word of God. They had just been arrested for boldly speaking and proclaiming the Healing Power of God over a crippled man, but they prayed for greater boldness!
The next Verse of Scripture tells us what happened after they prayed. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31)
God had heard their prayer and He answered! He caused the place where they were to shake! At that point, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit which gave them the Power to be bold in their faith and in their speech.
Prayer is powerful when prayed in faith. James wrote: And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:15) A prayer without faith is weak. While God hears every prayer, it is our faithful prayers that release the Power of God to bring about Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance.
I am reminded of a beautiful old song that says, Prayer is the key to Heaven, but faith unlocks the door. Words are so easily spoken, prayer without faith is like a boat without an oar. Have faith when you speak to the Master, that’s all He asks you for. Prayer is the key to Heaven but faith unlocks the door.
When you pray, believe God hears your prayer. Have faith that He will answer your prayer in the very best way possible. His timing is perfect. He knows what is best for you. His answer today may not be what you are praying for, but we must have faith that He knows what is best. So when you pray, humble yourself and trust God to act on your behalf. He will.
Remember, Have faith when you speak to the Master, that’s all He asks you for. Prayer is the key to Heaven but faith unlocks the door.
Praying in faith will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer, Doreen
