Acts 2:39 For the Promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all who are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
As Peter began to bring his message to a close, he spoke of the Promise of God. This is the Promise of the Gift of the Holy Spirit which was for them and for all believers even to this day.
Many people believe this Promise was only for the Apostles, but this Verse totally debunks that thought process. Peter said, For the Promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all who are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Who was he speaking to? Who is included in this Scripture?
The Promise of God (the Gift of the Holy Spirit) is for every believer on the face of the earth. The only criteria is that you be Saved and born again. The Holy Spirit is the Power of God for service in the Kingdom of God.
Everything that is done for the Kingdom of God is done by and through the Holy Spirit. He is the Workforce and Power Source of God to build His Kingdom. God uses people. He has always used people and He only has imperfect people to use. No person is perfect; not one. We all have flaws and shortcomings. We all make mistakes at times but God will still use us to further His Kingdom if we are willing to be used.
The Holy Spirit is the single most important Benefit for the believer. Seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, Ask and it shall be given unto you. Seek, and ye shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)
God will always keep His Promises. His Promise of the Gift of the Holy Spirit is as real today as it was 2,000 years ago. When we ask and seek the Promises of God with proper motives, God will answer in the affirmative. For all the Promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the Glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20)
Ask and seek. He will….…….turn the tide……..in your life.
