Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you.
For the past several days we have been discussing the ramifications of unforgiveness in our lives. This sin is so damaging to the Christian that the enemy uses it every day against us. Unforgiveness robs us of literally everything Jesus died on the Cross for us to have. Jesus told us that, the thief comes but to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10) That is Satan’s plan against every born again believer and unforgiveness is one of his strongest weapons.
As a review of the last few days the following are some Scriptures on the detriments of unforgiveness:
For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity. (Acts 8:23) Unforgiveness will develop into a root of bitterness which is poison and will destroy every aspect of the person; body, soul and spirit.
Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 2:10-11) Unforgiveness gives Satan the advantage over us. It opens the door for all sorts of evil spirits to enter.
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25) Unforgiveness will rob you of your Forgiveness.
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the Grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. (Hebrews 12:15) Unforgiveness will cause defilement.
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you love Me, keep My Commandments. This is My Commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.(John 15:6;10;12) Unforgiveness will result in the loss of your Salvation.
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has Eternal Life abiding in him. (1 John 3:14-15) Unforgiveness results in eternal damnation.
In conclusion, it comes down to the Law of Sowing and Reaping. If we want to be forgiven, we must first forgive. If we want to receive a Blessing, we must first be a Blessing. Jesus said, Give and it shall be given unto you. (Luke 6:38)
Forgive and God will……….turn the tide……….in every aspect of your life.
Forgiven and set free! Doreen
