Revelation 2:26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My Works until the end, to him I will give Power over the nations.

Yesterday, we discussed the warning and coming judgment for those in the church at Thyatira who succumbed to the demonic spirit of Jezebel. These people were involved in sexual immorality, idolatry, and eating things that had been sacrificed to idols.

Everyone in the church was not involved. Some stood strong against this demonic spirit and activity. Jesus called those people overcomers. And he who overcomes, and keeps My Works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations. (Revelation 2:26) Please take note of the fact that He said “My Works” and not “their works.”

We are seek to do the Work of the Lord and not the works of the world. The enemy will try to convince us to do things that are not of God. He will place thoughts in our minds that appear good but they are not. The Apostle Paul instructed us to consider every thought we have because the enemy is an expert at convincing us to do things that are not pleasing to the Lord. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the Knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

My friends, we live in the midst of a constant spiritual war. It takes place in the Heavenlies and we fight it in our minds. Satan cannot force our hands to do anything. Nor can he cause us to say bad things, but he can plant thoughts in our minds which cause us to think evil thoughts. When we act on those thoughts, we sin. We MUST TAKE CONTROL OF OUR THOUGHTS. This is what Paul meant when he wrote bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Every word we speak originates from a thought. Our actions begin with a thought in our minds. We think about something and then we speak it or act on it. The only exception to this is our natural reflexes.

We are all created to bring glory to God. If what we say and do does not bring glory to God, it is not of God. The goal is to live our lives glorifying God in everything we say and do. This is pleasing to God. If our words and actions being with our thoughts, then we must put every thought to the Glorify God Test.

Before you speak or act, ask yourself, “Does this glorify God?” If the answer is no, don’t say it; don’t do it. Let us seek to bring glory to God in every thought, word and action. This is the Works of God that He has prepared us to do beforehand. Hallelujah!

Take control of your thoughts. It will….…….turn the tide………..in your life.

Help me Lord,         Doreen
