To God Be The Glory

Acts 3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

The Holy Spirit led Peter and John to minister healing to the crippled beggar at the Gate named Beautiful. Everyone knew this man. He had sat at the Temple every day begging alms for years. They all knew he was born crippled and had to be carried everywhere.

Faith is a powerful ingredient to our Christian walk and to the Miracles of God. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. (Hebrews 11:6) The crippled man did not exhibit any faith and yet he was healed. It was the faith of Peter and John that moved that day. They believed in the Power in the Name of Jesus. More importantly, Jesus of Nazareth.

Peter spoke to the crippled man in faith and said, Silver and gold have I none: but such as I have give I to you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. (Acts 3:6) What Peter had to give to the man was faith; faith in the Power of God in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

I’m sure the crippled man had heard of the many Miracles Jesus performed but he didn’t have any faith for himself. It was the faith of Peter that brought healing to him. THEN, he had faith! A lot of faith. So much faith that he jumped up and went running into the Temple and praised God. This was not acceptable behavior in the Temple, but the man couldn’t help himself. He was so full of Joy over what had just happened to him, that he didn’t care. And He leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the Temple, walking and leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:8)

The healed man did not praise Peter or John. The Word of God tells us that he praised God. He knew it was God who healed him and he gave God all the praise and glory. Peter and John did not want any praise nor did they ask for money or take up an offering for their ministry. They did what they had been called to do: continue the Ministry of Jesus.

That’s what we are all called to do. We are deserving of no praise. We are servants of the Most High God and the Lord Jesus Christ. When we keep our focus on the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, He will meet all our needs. To God be ALL Glory, Honor, and Praise. He alone is worthy. Great things He has done.

He alone will……….turn the tide……..in the Church.

Glory to God!         Doreen
