Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

 

On the Day of Pentecost when the believers were gathered in the Temple, suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing, mighty wind, and it filled all the House where they were sitting. They were about to receive the Promise of the Father that Jesus told them about. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me.” (Acts 1:4)

 

They were obedient to the command of Jesus. They went to Jerusalem and waited. They were in one accord; all believing in the Words of Jesus, their Savior, and Lord. They searched the Scriptures and they prayed…….and they waited.

 

Then, it happened! First, they heard the sound. Then, they felt the rushing, mighty wind. After that, they saw the cloven tongues like fire and it sat upon each of them. No one was omitted. Every single one of them heard it, felt it, saw it, and received it.

 

This was the fulfillment of the Prophecy of John the Baptist when he said, I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matthew 3:11)

 

Every Prophecy in the Word of God either already has come to pass or it will come to pass. Of this, we can be sure. The Word of God is Truth and on it, we can stand. We are living in exciting times as we are watching Prophecy unfold right before our eyes. Most people don’t see it because they do not study the Word of God. I implore you to read your Bible and learn all you can.
