Transformed Spirit, Soul, and Body

1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of Peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When we are born again, we become a completely new creation in Christ Jesus. Without Him, we remain the old man completely depraved and corrupt. The Apostle Paul wrote a lot about the new man or the new creation in his letters to the various churches at that time. He understood how powerful the change can be because he, himself was totally transformed.

Like Paul, every aspect of our lives is changed upon our conversion. Sin causes separation from God so prior to Salvation, we are all at odds with God spiritually. However, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior our spirits are renewed and joined together with the Holy Spirit of God. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true Righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:20-24)

The soul that was full of rebellion is transformed into submission to the Word of God and obedience to the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit which now dwells within them. This is what causes the believer to think differently, speak differently, and act differently. When the soul is changed, the person changes. Their wants and desires change and they now live their life wanting to please God and not their self. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect Will of God. (Romans 12:2)

The believer’s body becomes the Temple for the Spirit of God to dwell in. He is sufficient for all our needs and capable of Teaching us everything we need to know for life and godliness. He keeps our body healthy and strong so we can fulfill our God-given Purpose in this life. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)

Therefore, we can see that the true Salvation experience affects every aspect of the human personality; spirit, soul, and body. Now may the God of Peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

True conversion will…………..turn the tide …….in anyone.
