Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 

 

The Apostle Paul explains in his letter to the Romans what will happen if people continue to reject God and refuse to accept Him and obey Him. God is merciful and longsuffering (patient). However, it is clear that at some point He will give us over to our own lustful desires. God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 

 

Is the following description an accurate portrayal of American society today? being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; (Romans 1:29-31)

 

Seventy percent of Americans claim to be Christians and yet the description given above describes their lives. How can that be? Are Americans that uninformed? Yes.  Americans are uninformed and uneducated about the Ways of God because the Word of God is no longer read and taught in our homes, and schools, and unfortunately, it’s not even taught in most churches across our land.

 

We have been taught to accept any behavior and mind our own business. Paul had something to say about that as well. who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:32)

 

The word that describes turning away from faith in Jesus and living outside of God’s Righteousness is, APOSTASY. America has been living in a state of apostasy and God is giving us over to our reprobate minds and ways. He has been allowing evil to come upon us because we have turned our backs on Him. 

 

However, it’s never too late to turn back! God is merciful and will always accept His children back into the fold. Just as we came to Him at first, we must come again; on our faces; broken, in repentance. He will accept nothing else. 

 

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray, seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land. 

 

If we really want to see God turn the tide in America, we must turn back to Him first.  That’s what His Word says. That’s His Way. He DOES NOT do things our way.

 

Obedience to His Word and Way will……...turn the tide
