Two Witnesses

Acts 1:10 And while they looked steadfastly toward Heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel.

In Old Testament time, the Law was the rule of order for the people of Israel and the Law required that there be two witnesses for a matter to be established and verified. The Holy Spirit inspired Luke to include this fact in his record because it was very important. And while they looked steadfastly toward Heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel. (Acts 1:10)

When Jesus was Transfigured, the Bible tells of two witnesses present. And after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain, and was transfigured before them: and His Face did shine as the sun, and His Raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with Him.

Also, at the Resurrection of Christ, we read of two witnesses being present. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher. And they entered in, and found not the Body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. (Luke 24:1-4)

In all three incidents (Jesus’ Transfiguration, Resurrection, and Ascension) there were two witnesses all of whom were Angelic beings. The Word describes their apparel as being white but in actuality, it refers more to its Light than the actual color. Their Angelic Garments were translucent by the Presence of God emanating from them.

A dear friend of mine saw an Angel once and I remember her saying that the color was so beautifully white she really couldn’t describe it. I believe her sighting was that of an Angelic being much like was seen in the three incidents noted above.

God is real, my friends. His Majesty is beyond our vocabulary. The Presence of the Holy Spirit is the Glory of God and I for one do not have the words to describe it. Suffice it to say that the Glory of God is beautiful beyond words.

The Glory of God will……….turn the tide
