Unprofitable Servant

Matthew 25:28 So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

Everywhere he went, the Apostle Paul preached his heart out to both the Jews and the Gentiles. The opposition of the Jews in Corinth was so fierce, that Paul finally stopped preaching to them. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, your blood be upon your own heads, I am clean: From henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles. (Acts 18:6)

Paul had preached to them the Message of the Cross which would save their souls from Hell, but they rejected it to the point of almost causing a riot. So, for the most part, Paul stopped preaching to the Jews and focused on the Gentiles.

Even to this day, rejection of the Message of the Cross is very dangerous and has eternal ramifications. Jesus spoke about this in His Parables: the Parable of the Pounds (Luke 19:13-25) and the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30).

These Parables speak to the importance of not rejecting the little Light that we have but using it to the best of our ability to further the Kingdom of God. Jesus is the Light. When the Light is preached the listener has the opportunity to receive the Light or reject it. The smallest bit of Light can change a person’s life and if used properly, they will receive more and more Light.

However, if the Light they have is abused or rejected, what Light they have will be taken away and they will lose what they have. This is a Spiritual Law that is reflected throughout the Word of God and needs to be understood.

I encourage you to read the Parables noted above and take them to heart. Jesus wasn’t kidding when He said, So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 25:28-30)

We don’t want to be counted among the “unprofitable servants.” On the contrary! We want to hear the Words, Well done good and faithful servant. What are you doing with the Light you have?

The Light of Jesus will………..turn the tide……..in this world.

Longing to hear those Words,         Doreen
