Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

 

Every born-again believer has the right and privilege to use the Name of Jesus. AFTER Jesus was Crucified, Buried, and Resurrected He appeared to well over 500 people. During this time He performed many more Miracles and spoke to the people about things that were still to come.

 

The last Words Jesus spoke before His Ascension into Heaven tell of the Power all believers now have. That includes you and me! We have been given the same Power Jesus had during His Ministry here on earth. He said, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)

 

There is Power in the Name of Jesus when spoken in faith. What faith? Faith in what He accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. This seems so basic, simple, and elementary, but this is where the Church today is faltering. Most churches have taken the Cross and the Blood of Jesus out of their services. Without the Cross and the shed Blood of Jesus, we have nothing to base our faith on!

 

Jesus said, In My Name they will………. He meant what He said. Luke recorded Him saying, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.” (Luke 10:18-20)

 

Jesus was there when Satan was banished from Heaven. God didn’t politely ask him to leave. Jesus said that he fell like lightning! At that time he became the enemy of God and all God’s people. He is our enemy and it is Satan that attacks us constantly BUT we have been given the Power and Authority over him!

 

However, we must use the Power we have to cast him out of our lives. He will continually attack us, but he is no match for the Name of Jesus! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

 

You have the Power. USE IT!

 

 

The Name of Jesus will…...….turn the tide
