Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken hearted; to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The above Scripture is Jesus' description of His Ministry on earth, and it still is today. For all this, He was anointed. For all this He gave His Life. God wants to see us saved, healed and delivered from EVERYTHING that hinders our walk of faith. This is Freedom in Christ and it is all available to every believer, and that includes YOU!
Unfortunately, most churches today preach only Salvation. From then on the Christian is left to try to survive on their own as they dodge the fiery darts of the enemy every day. Anyone who thinks Satan will stop attacking them the moment they accept Jesus as their Savior, is wrong! The enemy comes only to kill, steal, and destroy and he never stops attacking us. However, we can be an overcomer IF we fully understand all the benefits of being born again.
Take a minute and think back to that moment in time when you understood that Jesus died for YOU. Remember the feelings of freedom you had? It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from your shoulders. The fear of dying and going to Hell was gone. You were SAVED and you knew it!
You may not realize it, but the Holy Spirit drew you to that place in time. It is He who convicted your heart of your many sins and brought you to repentance on that fateful day when you said “YES” to Jesus Christ and made Him Lord of your life. Nothing in this world can compare to that feeling. To live the rest of your life in that moment would be wonderful, but it hasn’t been that way, has it?
It hasn’t because you don’t have a full understanding of all the benefits of being born again. Knowing that God has prepared a place for you in Heaven when you die is tremendous, but there’s more; MUCH MORE! don’t have to live a life of pain and misery, waiting to leave this earth and go to Heaven.
Jesus gave His Life to heal your broken heart! He died to free you from those horrible thoughts the enemy plants in your mind on a continual basis. He shed His Blood on the Cross so you can be healed physically and emotionally. He died so you can be set free from all the emotional bruises you have endured in your lifetime. And last, but certainly not least, He gave His Precious, Perfect Life on the Cross so you can be assured that He is coming back and take you with Him! Praise God! ! !
All of what I have just described, and more, is available to every born again believer in Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. It’s not just believing that Jesus lived because even Muslims believe Jesus lived and was a Prophet of God. One MUST believe that Jesus died on the Cross, as the final and ultimate Sacrifice to God for the sins of every person who has ever, and will ever, live on earth.
He died so you can be set free from everything that torments you; fear, pain, anger, worry, physical illness, bitterness, unforgiveness, rebellion, rejection, depression, insecurity, mental illness, addiction, confusion, doubt, guilt, sexual immorality, gluttony, hate, jealously, all teaching of false religion and MORE! ! !
Jesus did not shed His Blood on the Cross for you to live a tormented life on earth. He died for you to be set totally free from all that torment. There’s Victory in Jesus! There’s FREEDOM in Jesus, you just have to learn to access it through the Holy Spirit! There’s no other way!
