Victory In The Cross Of Christ

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in Righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Word of God is our Instruction Book for living. We need instructions because, due to the sin nature we are all born with, we are prone to sin. The only way for us to live our lives pleasing to God is to read His Word and trust in His Plan which is to believe in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

It was on the Cross of Calvary that Jesus defeated the power of Satan and sin in our lives. Without faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross, we will never have victory over sin. Jesus was God’s ONLY Plan for Victory over the enemy. We don’t need to try to devise our own plan because God’s Plan is perfect and complete in every way. All we need to do is trust in His Plan.

Jesus told us this. The thief comes but to kill, steal, and destroy but I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) Abundant Life is NOT sinful. Abundant Life is a life of Righteousness. The definition of Righteousness is, that which is right in the eyes of God.

When we place our faith in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross we will find Victory over sin because that’s WHY Jesus went to the Cross! Yes, He died on the Cross so we can have forgiveness for our sins but He also went to the Cross so we can live an abundant life free from the power of sin.

If you have something sinful in your life that you just can’t seem to have victory over, consider this. Ask yourself the following questions: Is this problem a sin? Does God see it as sinful? If your answer is yes, then ask yourself if you want to be rid of this sinful practice. If you hate this sin but just can’t seem to have victory over it, read the following Words of Jesus: I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:18-19)

In Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he wrote about what Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which is contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

My friends, Jesus is our answer. His Work on the Cross of Calvary is our Way to Victory over sin. This is God’s Plan for all of humanity. To be free from the power of sin in our lives we must first admit that what we are doing is sin and comes from Satan. Second, we must hate that sin and want to be free from it. Third, we must understand and believe that Jesus died on the Cross for that sin. When you BELIEVE that, you will have Victory over it.

What Jesus did was enough. He paid the price for ALL sin. Nothing was excluded and no sin was too great for the Blood of Christ to cleanse it. It doesn’t matter what it is, the Blood of Jesus paid the price for it. You don’t have to walk in sin. You don’t have to be controlled by sin. Jesus took care of it 2,000 years ago. All you have to do is believe it!

Our Victory over every attack of the enemy is Jesus! Whatever it is, Jesus nailed it to the Cross of Calvary!

Believe it and watch God……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Victory in Jesus!         Doreen
